Musicians, Actors Among Beneficiaries Of Kshs. 100 Million Stimulus Package

In the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic, musicians and actors across Kenya smiled all the way to the bank after the government disbursed money allocated after submitting applications and have their works showcased across several outlets.
Auditions and applications were done online and restrictions placed due to the virus and social distancing. So far, Kenya Cultural Center has paid 643 artistes with recordings in Nairobi, Rift valley, Nyanza, western, Central. Each artiste received an average of Kshs. 10000 covering different genres which include poetry, spoken word, percussions, radio theatre, narratives and storytelling.
Many of these creatives decided to pen down and perform stories based on Covid-19, spreading messages across prevention and managing the coronavirus pandemic. Some of these creatives have already received the money, as others are still waiting on it. We hope all cash will be finally distributed and also shared equally among them.
